YNat Finalist Remy Skerjanz Verbally Commits to Davidson

Remy Skerjanz, who swims for Y-Spartaquatics Swim Club at their satellite Thomas E. Hannah Site, verbally committed to be a Wildcat at Davidson College in 2017-18. Skerjanz is the team captain for the Spartanburg High School swim team. In October, he won the 200 free for the second straight year at the SCHSL 5A State Championships, touching in 1:43.72. Skerjanz focuses on short-to-mid distance backstroke and freestyle in club swimming, as well. He has been a top-16 finisher at YMCA National Championships in both long course and short course, and has had top-5 finishes in relays with Y-Spartaquatics.

Skerjanz commented on Davidson, saying, “Davidson is an excellent school with amazing opportunities for me in and out of the pool. The coaches and team have been incredibly helpful and engaging for me, and I can’t wait to be a Wildcat next Fall!”

His top times include:

  • 100 free – 46.30
  • 200 free – 1:40.26
  • 100 back – 51.26
  • 200 back – 1:52.29
