Wesleyan Swimming & Diving tackles Baewatch, online dating in year-end video

Wesleyan University went all-out with its year-end banquet video, complete with sketches and running gags.

You can watch the video above, courtesy of waterlawma on YouTube – the video is apparently from Wesleyan’s season-ending banquet.

The video starts and ends with a “BaeWatch” sketch, a loose parody of the classic “Baywatch” TV show. Don’t watch the sketch if your heart can’t handle some high drama, including a squabble among teammates and an action-packed, near-drowning rescue.

Wesleyan also takes on the concept of online dating, creating their own Match.com parody called Wes&M. Sure, the name isn’t very promising, but the testimonials in the video sure make it sound successfull, among the Cardinal swimming & diving roster.

It isn’t all fun and games, though. The team also delves into serious territory with some heartfelt sendoffs for the senior class, plus recounting some of the favorite memories from the season.

Wesleyan competes in Division III of the NCAA and the New England Small College Athletic Conference, or NESCAC. You’ll hear several swimmers mention NESCACs as the highlight meet of their season; Wesleyan finished 8th on both the men’s and women’s sides.
