VIDEO INTERVIEW: Renwick Calls Racing at U.S. Nationals in Yards an “Eye Opener”

In the above video interview, the silver medalist in the 50 free Jack Thorpe, left, and the bronze medalist, Robbie Renwick, talk about their week in Edinburgh, Scotland.

Renwick is the second Scottish swimmer this weekend to relate the experience of racing yards in the United States and how it benefits their swimming. Renwick raced at the U.S. Short Course National Championships last week, and said that it really helped him work on “his skills,” meaning his turns and his underwaters, that are so important in yards swimming.

That echoed comments made by Dan Wallace, who spends most of his time training and competing in the U.S. (as compared to Renwick, who trains in Scotland and recently moved to join a growing group at the University of Stirling).
