I am extremely excited to announce my verbal commitment to continue my academic and athletic careers at West Virginia University! Coaches Dan, Liz, Vic and the team truly made me feel welcome and a part of the family! Thank you to my coaches, family, and friends who have supported me along this journey. I can’t wait to be a Mountaineer! 💙💛#hailwv #countryroads

Wozny swims for Life Time Swim Team out of Cary, NC. In March, she competed at Cary Sectionals and earned numerous best times. Those times included the 100 (51.71), 200 (1:51.37), and 500 (4:56.49) freestyles as well as the 100 breaststroke (1:06.08) and 200 IM (2:08.36). She also time trialed the long course 200 freestyle and earned a best time of 2:07.33.

She continued her success into the summer and earned multiple long course best times at Greensboro Sectionals. Those times included the 100 (1:07.60) and 200 (2:27.34) backstrokes, 100 (1:17.55) and 200 (2:48.87) breaststrokes, and 200 (2:26.27) and 400 (5:12.90) IMs.

Wozny shows off her versatility as she has Futures cuts in the 100, 200, 500, and 1000 freestyles, 200 breaststroke short course as well as the 200 freestyle and 200 IM long course.

She began her junior year of high school this fall at Providence Senior High School in Charlotte, NC.

Her best short course yards times are:

  • 100 freestyle: 51.71
  • 200 freestyle: 1:51.37
  • 500 freestyle: 4:56.49
  • 1000 freestyle: 10:18.38
  • 1650 freestyle: 17:28.97
  • 200 breaststroke: 2:22.27
  • 200 backstroke: 2:05.73
  • 200 IM: 2:08.36

West Virginia University is a public university located in Morgantown, West Virginia. The school is a member of the Big 12 Conference. The team finished fifth out of five teams at the 2021 Big 12 Conference Championships. They were only 13 points behind fourth place Texas Christian University.

Wozny has the potential to immediately add points to the team at the conference level as her best time would earn her a ‘B’ final swim in the 500 freestyle, 200 breaststroke, and 200 backstroke as well as top 16 in the 1650 freestyle.

The Big 12 Conference will be expanding within the next few years as the conference is adding four schools (and exiting two). Three of the four joining the conference sponsor women’s swimming and diving teams, and one of the teams exiting (Texas) sponsors women’s swimming and diving. The net addition of two teams has the potential to change up how difficult it is to earn points at the conference level.

Wozny will arrive on campus in fall 2023 as a member of the class of 2027.
