Irvine Novaquatics’ Jacquelyn Harris has given a verbal commitment to USCB’s class of 2021. A senior at Marina High School (Huntington Beach), she was the 2016 Sunset League MVP as well as a 2x All-American.

At the 2016 CIF Sunset League Championships, representing Marina High School, Harris placed 5th in the 100 fly and 10th in the 50 free. She also swam legs of Marina’s 200 and 400 free relays, both of which placed in the top 9.
With her times right now, Harris would’ve scored in the A finals of both the 50 free and 100 fly at the 2016 MPSF Championships, while she’s right on the B/C final bubble in the 100 free.
Notably, UCSB just graduated three of four 50 free MPSF A finalists from last season– the fourth will graduate after this season. Additionally, no UCSB women scored in the 100 fly A final last year. Harris’s arrival to campus next fall will be very timely, and her event strengths will also significantly improve team weaknesses.
Congrats!! But Jerry Marshburns Twitter handle is really cracking me up!!
I apologize – I meant “Jeri”.
