IRVING, Texas – The American Athletic Conference has announced the winners of the league’s weekly swimming and diving awards.

SWIMMING ATHLETE OF THE WEEK
Maya Wilson, Graduate Student, Tulane
Wilson captured four event victories at the FIU Sprint Invite last weekend. She swept the sprint freestyle events, winning the 100-yard freestyle in a meet record time of 51.67, the 50 free in 23.67 and the 200 free in 1:53.71. In addition, the graduate student finished first in the 100-yard butterfly in 56.62.

FRESHMAN SWIMMING ATHLETE OF THE WEEK
Tawannah McLemore, FIU
McLemore earned two event wins and two fourth-place finishes at the FIU Sprint Invite in Miami, Florida. The freshman won the 100-yard individual medley in 58.46 and the 50-yard butterfly in 25.05. She also placed fourth in the 50-yard freestyle in 24.77 and the 100 fly in 59.30.

DIVING ATHLETE OF THE WEEK
Frida Zuniga Guzman, Redshirt Junior, East Carolina
Zuniga Guzman swept the springboard events against Georgia Southern and UNC Asheville. She won the 1-meter event with a total of 275.45 points and captured the 3-meter event with 277.15 points.

FRESHMAN DIVING ATHLETE OF THE WEEK
Brooke Megdall, FIU
Megdall finished second in the platform event at the FIU Diving Invitational with a score of 207.30 points. She also finished sixth in the 1-meter prelims with a score of 227.55.
