I am extremely excited to announce my verbal commitment to further my swim and academic career at the University of Kansas! I chose KU because of the amazing coaching staff and team dynamics. Huge thanks to my family, friends, and coaching for helping me reach my goals! Can’t wait to become a Jayhawk!! Rockchalk

Sisung had to opporotunities to earn a best time in the 100 free leading off Friendswood’s 400 free relays. In prelims, she touched the wall in a time of 52.92. She went 0.27 seconds faster in finals to go a personal best time of 52.65. She split a 50 back time of 25.96, and was followed by Peyton Becker, Theall, and Nelson.

Throughout her high school career, Sisung has been an 11-time state finalist and an 8-time state medalist. She holds Friendswood High School records in the 100 back, 400 free relay, and 200 medley relay. In addition to setting a Friendswood school record, the 2020 championship relay set a new Texas 5A State record.

Top SCY Times:

  • 50 back – 25.78
  • 100 back – 55.32
  • 200 back – 2:00.61
  • 100 fly – 55.05

Sisung will become a member of the University of Kansas’ women’s team in the fall of 2021. She will train and compete alongside some of the team’s top backstrokers including Dewi Blose, Elizabeth Amato-Hanner, Manon Manning, and Lauryn Parrish, each of whom finished in the top 8th in the 100 or 200 backstroke at the 2020 Big 12 Conference Championships. Kansas was runner-up at the 2020 conference meet to the University of Texas.

Sisung’s top times would have place her in the A-final of the 100 back and fly, and she would have qualified for the B-final in the 200 back. She will be joining fellow commits Karla Lessing, Elliott Howe, Brigid Gwidt, and Addi Barnes.
