FORT WORTH – In a dominant performance on Friday at the University Rec Center, the women’s swimming and diving team secured a resounding victory over New Mexico State, prevailing in all 13 events by a score of 185-56.
IN THE POOL
The meet began with TCU finishing in first and second place in the 400 Medley Relay. Tania Quaglieri, Claire Chahbandour, Morgan Gore and Serena Gould took first with a time of 3:48.89.
Kara Church was undefeated on the day and claimed her second win this season in both the 500 and 1000 Freestyle. The senior was victorious in the 500 free with a time of 4:59.86 and had a time of 10:15.63 in her 1000 free win.
Olivia Rhodes was 2-0 against the Aggies securing her second win this season in the 50 and 100 Freestyle. The North Carolina native swam to a time of 23.57 in the 50 Free and 51.59 in the 100.
Mikayla Popham tallied her second individual win of the season after winning the 200 Freestyle with a time of 1:52.23.
Nina Vadovicova earned her fourth win as a Horned Frog winning the 200 IM with a time of 2:07.01.
Alessandra Senis, Rylee Moore and Claire Chahbandour each collected a win in the 200 Butterfly, 200 Backstroke and 200 Breaststroke, respectively.
The meet concluded with a TCU one-two finish in the 400 Freestyle Relay. Vadovicova, Senis, Stella Todd and Jeanne Dahmen made up the first-place team swimming to a time of 3:30.02.
ON THE BOARDS
Anna Kwong swept the diving events against the Aggies and earned two Zone cuts on the day. The junior scored a 312.38 on the three-meter besting the second-place finisher by 58 points. She scored a 271.05 on the one-meter earning her third zone cut in the event this season.

The Horned Frogs will have one week of preparation before heading to midseason’s at the Mizzou Invite on Nov. 15-17 at the Mizzou Aquatic Center.

TEXAS – The Aggies received their first true test this weekend as they took a trip east to take on TCU and North Texas on consecutive days. In the two-day trip, NM State came away with one loss and one win as they fell to TCU before knocking off North Texas despite having no rest.

FORT WORTH, Texas – On Friday evening, the Aggies took part in the first of two back-to-back meets in Texas as they faced off with TCU. In total, the Aggies fought to earn 12 podium finishes, including strong showings in the dive events and the 500-yard freestyle. Despite the performances, the Horned Frogs defeated the Aggies, 185-56.
In the three-meter dive event, Italia Aranzabal claimed second place while freshman Mira Tinani landed a third place finish. Aranzabal and Tinani also finished second and third, respectively, in the one-meter event.
Meanwhile, Katie Rink’s second-place finish in the 500 free was tied for the Aggies’ top placement in all swim events. Rink was one of two Aggies to finish inside the top three in the 500 as Naomi Slee finished just behind her fellow long-distance teammate.
Emily Dobbins also had a good start to the weekend as she secured the Aggies only other second-place finish in a swim event as she turned in a time of 24.08 seconds in the 50 free.
In the relay events, the Aggies were able to land a pair of third-place finishes as Emily Dobbins, Taylor Craft, Lindsay Puhalski and Dreamer Kowatch combined to take third in the 400 medley relay and then the quartet of Katie Rink, Naomi Slee, Elizabeth Cervantes-Vanderlugt and Taylor Craft joined forces to secure third in the final event of the day – the 400 free relay.
