Taylor McKeown was born on March 17th, 1995. She started competitive swimming at the age of nine. 2014 Commonwealth Games McKeown won gold in 200m breaststroke with a time of 2:22.36, finishing ahead of fellow countryman, Sally Hunter, and Molly Renshaw of England. 2014 Pan Pacific Championships In the 200m breaststroke, McKeown won a bronze medal with a time of 2:22.89, 0.9 seconds behind silver medal winner, Rie Kaneto of Japan and gold medal winner, Kanak Watanabe also of Japan. In the 100m breaststroke, McKeown swam to a fifth place finish with a time of 1:07.55 2015 FINA World Championships McKeown battled illness and asthma and did not qualify for a final in an individual event. She did help Australia win a bronze medal as part of the 4x100m medley relay. 2016 Rio Olympics Mckeown had a personal best morning swim in the 100m breaststroke with a time of 1:06.73, but only swam a 1:07.15 in the semifinals and finished 11th, not qualifying for the Championship final. In the 200m breaststroke, McKeown swam a 2:21.69 in the semifinals to qualify first for the finals. In the finals, McKeown again swam a bit slower, finishing fifth with a time of 2:22.43.
