Russia’s Kliment Kolesnikov swam 1:55.49 in the 200 back yesterday at Russian Nationals for a new junior world record. The time was fast enough to land him a slot on the Russian Worlds team.
Jiayu put up a personal best 1:54.03 to win the 200 back, setting a new Chinese National Record in the process.
Jiayu threw down a 51.86, clearing the former Asian Record of 52.24 and missing Ryan Murphy’s World Record by just a hundredth of a second.
