Day two of the 13th Republic of China Student Games featured the 400 free, 100 back, 200IM, and 4×200 free relay finals.
Wang Shun followed up his 400m IM victory in Tianjin with a 200m IM win on night 6, while Ning Zetao established himself as the top seed in the men’s 50m freestyle heading into tomorrow night’s final.
Sun Yang claimed his 2nd title of the National Games of China, winning the 200 free in 1:45.15. Controversial swimmer Qiu Yuhan is also making her mark in the women’s version of the event.

Russian Kliment Kolesnikov lowered his junior world record in a swim-off in the men’s 100 back.
In a day filled with ties, yet another came through in semifinals of the men’s 100 back. Russia’s Kliment Kolesnikov and China’s Li Guangyuan finished in a tie for 9th place, and are set for a swim-off in the event, per Omega live results.

On day 7, Chinese backtroke star Xu Jiayu continued to rewrite the record books with a 24.42 in the 50 back, setting a new Chinese National Record in the process
In the semifinals of the 50 back, Jiayu popped off a 24.42 to set the mark.
Russia’s Kliment Kolesnikov swam 1:55.49 in the 200 back yesterday at Russian Nationals for a new junior world record. The time was fast enough to land him a slot on the Russian Worlds team.
