The Utah Utes broke 3 new school records Saturday night at the Minnesota Invite, led by Daniel McArthur’s 1:41.38 in the 200 backstroke.
Jordan Anderson smoked her own personal best in the 200 IM to break the school record in the event in Minneapolis.
Utah won 6 of 8 shootout events, as well as 15 of 18 regular events en route to a 1st place finish in men’s scoring and 2nd in women’s.
Stanford’s freshman class had a strong debut, with 5 freshmen women and 4 freshmen men securing individual wins to help the Cardinal beat Utah.
Much of the pre-season conversation about Cal’s Andrew Seliskar has been whether he will keep the 200 fly on his NCAA schedule or swap it out for the 200 breast. He swam and won both of those races Saturday against the Utes.
Zhao’s record came in the 100 breast, where she put up a 1:00.94 in prelims to shave .02 off her own former record.
