200 Medley Relay
In the first event of the meet, the Mustangs’ 200 medley relay squad of Jack Berube, Joe Rusnock, Russell Exum and Sage Sungail claimed first with a time of 1:27.91. SMU’s team of Asher Good, Ewan Lonergan, Jack Moore and Eli Likins touched the wall in 1:34.80 in an exhibition.
1000 Free
During the first individual event of the day, freshman Laszlo Galicz threw down the third-fastest time in Mustangs history of 9:05.72 en route to the victory. Jack Forrest recorded a 9:05.78 to join Galicz on the podium.
Also competing in the event were Mark Van Eybergen and Hunter Lund, who recorded times of 9:23.46 and 9:31.08, respectively.
200 Free
Jack Hoagland claimed the victory in the event with a mark of 1:36.18, and Jack Moore joined him on the podium after touching the wall in 1:37.88.
Harold Lockhart and Sage Sungail also placed for SMU, earning times of 1:38.90 and 1:41.34.
100 Back
Earning his first victory as a Mustang, Jack Berube led the way with a time of 49.46. Russell Exum was right behind him, touching the wall in 49.51 to take second.
Also placing in the event was Rob McCall, who finished fourth with a mark of 50.56.
100 Breast
Joe Rusnock earned the victory in the fourth event of the afternoon with a time of 54.61, while Angus Corbeau touched the wall in 55.23 to take third.
Kristaps Mikelsons tallied a time of 55.46 and Joe Umhofer had a personal-best mark of 56.52 to take fourth and fifth for SMU, respectively.
200 Fly
With a time of 1:46.97, Cotton Fields recorded another victory for the Mustangs, while Ryan Peckham and Jack Hoagland joined him on the podium with marks of 1:48.39 and 1:49.44.
Also competing for the Mustangs was Nico Sobenes, who placed fourth with a time of 1:50.47.

Connor McClintic recorded a time of 20.80, Michael Ripper touched the wall in 20.84, Lance Butler saw a mark of 20.89 and Kaleb Ikbal tallied a time of 21.34 to take fourth through seventh for SMU.
3-Meter Diving
Luke Sitz recorded a score of 428.03, just eight points shy of a school record, to take first, while John Dymond claimed second with a mark of 346.65.
100 Free
In the first event following the break, Sage Sungail threw down a 44.67 to take second and Michael Ripper recorded a 45.11 to place third.
Also in the event was Kaleb Ikbal and Lance Butler, who touched the wall in 45.69 and 45.98, respectively.
200 Back
Rob McCall took the victory with a time of 1:48.52, and Jack Berube came in second after touching the wall in 1:49.09.
Russell Exum earned a fourth-place finish with a time of 1:50.40.
200 Breast
The 200 breast saw three Mustangs take podium finishes, with Jack Hoagland leading the way after touching the wall in a personal-best 1:58.61.
Angus Corbeau and Kristaps Mikelsons joined him on the podium with marks of 2:01.83 and 2:02.57, respectively. Joe Rusnock placed seventh in the event with a time of 2:06.24.
500 Free
With the victory already secured for the Mustangs, only Jack Forrest’s winning mark of 4:23.39 counted in the placements.
Laszlo Galicz, Harold Lockhart, Mark Van Eybergen and Hunter Lund also saw action in the event as exhibitions.
100 Fly
Russell Exum recorded a victory with a time of 48.55 in the event. Leif Bouwman, Nico Sobenes, Kaleb Ikbal, Ben Longeway and Cameron Thompson competed in the event as exhibitions.
1-Meter Diving
Luke Sitz tallied a score of 369.90 on 1-meter, while John Dymond saw a mark of 303.00.
200 IM
Jack Moore recorded a mark of 1:49.06 to take first in the event. Angus Corbeau, Cotton Fields, Ryan Peckham and Ben Longeway also saw action as exhibitions.
400 Free Relay
The 400 free relay saw the Mustangs’ team of Jack Hoagland, Jack Forrest, Harold Lockhart and Sage Sungail take first with a time of 2:57.49.

DALLAS – The University of the Incarnate Word swim and dive team took a trip up to Dallas for a meet at Southern Methodist University (SMU). The men competed in a tri meet against SMU and Oklahoma Christian, while the women were in a one-on-one battle with OC.
The Cardinals showed out in longest and shortest events of the meet. Lauren Matula took first in the 1,000 with a time of 10:22.85. Megan Lopez finished third with a time of 10:37.00. The UIW women also had two top-three finishes in the 500. Matula took first again finishing in 5:07.26 and Teha Molina wasn’t far behind taking second with a time of 5:10.53. Panos Vlachogiannakos was top three in both of these events first placing third in the 1,000 with a 9:07.93 and then going 4:26.40 in the 500.
The Cardinals dominated the sprint freestyle events. Jada Ashford, Cathrine Stephen, and Kelechi Nwaeze were one, two, and three in the 100. Fabio Sasolo, Luis Oliveria, and Amechi Nwaeze took the top three spots in the 50. The UIW record holder in the event, Fabio Fasolo was first in the men’s 100 free and Stephen and Kelechi Nwaeze held the top two times in the women’s 50 free.
UIW also showed their prowess in the 100-yard backstroke. Aspen Stallworth led the way with at time of 57.97 for first place. Laney Skrobanek (58.49) and Kristen Schauss (59.25) followed her placing second and third.
Izzy Dollar was first on both the 1-meter and 3-meter, scoring 145.13 and 162.38 points in each event.

UIW will be off for nearly a month before competing again in the mid-season championships in College Station from November 20 through the 22nd.

DALLAS, Texas – Oklahoma Christian swam against NCAA Division I members SMU and Incarnate Word Friday, Oct. 18 as Tammy Greenwood for the women paced the Eagles with two individual wins and a relay victory.
Greenwood started off the wins for OC by taking first in the 200-yard freestyle by four whole seconds, touching at 1:49.55. Later in the meet, Greenwood got her second win in the 100 butterfly with a time of 55.97.
Joining Greenwood with podium-topping performances was Hailey Uhrig, who won the 200 breaststroke at 2:21.67, as Grace Cooper (2:26.87) and Lainy Lewis (2:27.44) also bested the Division I competition. Jadie Brister (2:10.75) later won the 200 IM for the Eagle women’s final individual win of the night.
Greenwood ended the night with a win alongside Jaiden Branstrom, Laura Byars and Vanessa Weatherford in the 400 free relay, edging out Incarnate Word’s quartet by 66 hundredths of a second with a winning time of 3:28.97.
The 200 IM, as it did for Brister on the women’s side, held a meet-best finish for the men as newcomer Jarrod Arroyo posted second behind SMU’s Jack Moore with a runner-up time of 1:50.52, beating six other Division I competitors.
Eli Rollen claimed two third-place finishes in the 100 backstroke (49.86) and the 200 back (1:49.37) while Victor Rosado recorded a third-place finish in the 200 free (1:38.12).
Oklahoma Christian will now have about a month off from competition before hosting its big three-day mid-season meet in the Eagle Invitational Nov. 15-17 at the Mitch Park YMCA.
