First-time Olympian Sam Williamson spoke with Australian media during the Dolphins training camp in Chartres. The breaststroke specialist expressed his excitement to dawn the gold and green for the first time on the Olympic stage.
He also looked ahead past the Paris Games when asked about incoming coach Mel Marshall, who will be coaching in Australia starting this fall. Marshall is the longtime coach of Breaststroke titan Adam Peaty. Williamson says Mel brings a wealth of knowledge down under and he’s looking forward to working with this “jack of all trades”.
I know he intended to pay Mel Marshall a great compliment, but the ‘Jack of all trades’ phrase is completed by ‘Master of none’. A Jack of all trades is someone who is reasonable at everything but doesn’t shine at anything in particular.
Though in this case we know that she is in factor a master of at least one thing.
Lol “Sam Williamson, spelled how it sounds S-A-M”
I think spelling the second name might have been more useful
I’m tickled why they have to spell their name at the start of the interview?😂
His build is giving Olympic breaststroker but his glasses are giving Roger from accounts payable.
Never thought the kid from Stuart Little would grow up to be an Olympic swimmer
And pack on 80kg of muscle haha
…master of none.
You’re getting downvoted but i mean he basically said it…
He seems so lovely 😭
Name a current member of the AUS swimming team who isn’t humble, well-spoken and likeable.
i’ll wait.
Not you SwimDaddy, not you…
Isaac Cooper…
Cate Campbell.
She’s not current, unless you count the commentary team.
Cooper is the absolute stand out here as being absolutely none of those things.
Unsurprisingly for a group of elite athletes, some of them are too confident to be humble. O’Callaghan, Short and Titmus are well spoken and likeable, but they know they’re amongst the world’s best and they’re happy to say that.
Their fans for bringing it up every 10 minutes?
Shayna Jack…I don,t like swimmers who dope.You,ll say she,s innocent.I don,t believe it.My opinion.
That’s fair enough you’re entitled to your opinion. The positive is at least when she was caught she served her time and didn’t try to force her way into training programs like Mr hammertime or out right avoid her sentence like the other Chinese athletes. I feel sorry for the likes of Pan and the other Chinese athletes who didn’t test positive who now have their reputation tarnished thanks to their teammates
