IRVING, Texas – The American Athletic Conference has announced the winners of the league’s weekly swimming and diving awards.
SWIMMING ATHLETE OF THE WEEK
Imogen Meers, Senior, Rice
Meers aided the Owls to three wins in a quad-dual meet with North Texas, SMU and Rice by earning four first-place finishes, including the 50-yard freestyle (23.58 – tied for first), the 100 backstroke (55.77), the 200 backstroke (2:00.19) and the 200 individual medley (2:06.59).
DIVING ATHLETE OF THE WEEK
Frida Zuniga Guzman, Redshirt Sophomore, East Carolina
Zuniga Guzman earned two victories against Liberty, earning 284.55 points on 1-meter and 313.58 points on 3-meter. Both scores were NCAA Zone Diving-qualifying marks.
