Cardinal Aquatics’ Lili Elayi has verbally committed to Rice University for fall 2022. She’s a junior at Lafayette High School in Kentucky.

Elayi’s best event is the 100 fly, where she holds a lifetime best of 54.72. She swam that time in December, racing at the virtual 18&U Winter Championships.
At the 2020 Kentucky HS State Championships, Elayi placed fourth in the 100 fly (55.91) and seventh in the 50 free (24.15).
Rice had a very deep butterfly group this past season, with five women going under 55 in the 100 fly led by Conference USA champion Maddy Howe (53.20). Elayi would’ve been #4 on their roster in the event, along with holding top-six times in both the 50 free and 100 free.
Elayi would’ve made the 2021 C-USA A-final in the 100 fly, while she would’ve scored in B-finals in the 50 free and 100 free, too. She joins breaststroker Mia Nagle in Rice’s class of 2026.
