This is it– the last few days before the start of the 2016 Olympic Games. Those final, preparatory, in-between days. This weekend will begin the heart-wrenching, epic, sporting event of the quadrennial that will have you jumping up and down, crying, or even YELLING AT YOUR TELEVISION! HOW DID SHE DO THAT? GOLD! ROWDY IS YELLING, SO NOW I’M SCREAMING, AND IT’S NOT MAKING MY FAVORITE SWIMMER GO ANY FASTER BUT I’M DOING IT ANYWAYS!

Deep breaths. Chill out. We’re not there yet! You’re getting ahead of yourself.

In these in-between days, we anticipate what’s to come, but we must also look back upon some of the great moments of last time around. Below, enjoy all of the (finals) race videos from the 2012 Olympic Games, and appreciate where we are today, four years later.

This post features the women’s races from London. Watch Katie Ledecky shock the world, Ranomi Kromowidjojo complete the sprint double with two golds, Allison Schmitt break the 200 free Olympic record, and more. There will be a subsequent post with the men’s races shortly after this one!
