Finishing up his one-per-day string of exhibition swims on Saturday at the 2015 American Short Course Championships in Austin, Texas, Michael Phelps put in a 42.17.

Awesome
2 breaths/2 breaths/4 breaths/1 breath……talk about VO2 Max….he has it.
From what I can tell:
15m UW, 2 breaths, 5 strokes
13.5m UW, 2 breaths, 6 strokes
12.5m UW, 3 or 4 breaths, 8 strokes
12.5m UW, 1 breath, 9 strokes.
Quite impressive totals there: 53.5m or 58.5y UW / 8-9 breaths / 28 strokes
He REALLY pushed 15 meters off the start.
I was wondering the same thing. Looked like only 1 per length, 2nd stroke cycle off the wall. Of course, there aren’t many opportunities to breathe when you’re taking 6-8 strokes per length. Reminds me of an old Ian Crocker 100y free from the 2007 American Short Course Championships where he goes 41.7. Crocker took more strokes though.
Did he take that whole 100?
what kind of suit is he wearing now?
Arena Carbon Pro, I believe.
He is actually wearing the Arena Carbon flex
why would he wear arena suits if he’s new sponsor is aqua sphere? + he’s new line with them is coming out next month. would be confusing if he wore the carbon flex
He is wearing a new MP suit that will be released here in the next month. The suit was launched at the ISPO show in February. Looks to be pretty fast!
Do you work for Aquasphere? What makes this suit better than the others? Seems like a marketing ploy to me…
I have some insider knowledge. All will be revealed very soon!
That was crazy fast…and yes I realize that it was in yards etc etc. Phelps is in good form
frankly, this pool is kinda small for the big fish to swim in 😀
man those last 3 strokes were faster than a speeding bullet…ya MP is back & the Phans are just as excited ready to see him racing in Mesa.
thank you very much for the video.
