Kenyon Winter Invitational – Day Two, More Records Fall

The second day of the Kenyon Winter Invitation proved to be just as quick and as much fun to watch as Day One. For host Kenyon College, though the event open auspiciously with very fast swims from both the Lords and the Ladies, the superior depth of the DI and DII teams arrayed against them led to a fourth place finish for the Ladies, and a third place finish for the Lords. On both sides, Ohio State University was victorious (795.5 women, 741 men).

Kenyon Winter Invitational – Day One; Norris Breaks Records

The first night of the Kenyon Invitational, hosted in the James A Steen Natotorium saw some seriously fast swimming. That’s unsurprising, considering there are three DI schools in the house. The highlights of the evening were OSU’s Alex Norris taking down two pool records.

Gustavus Crushes Carleton; Resets Records at Luther

Gustavus Adolphus women’s swimming and diving team took charge on Friday – their Senior Night. The women’s team crushed Carleton, 212-82, and the Gusties recorded 13 event victories on their way to a win. Then the day after, they swam at Luther and broke five pool records.

Wheaton IL Hosts Quad Meet – Women First, Men Fourth

The men and women of Wheaton IL hosted the Wheaton Quadrangular Meet at Chrouser Natatorium this past Saturday. The women posted an overall win with 561 points while the men’s team finished in fourth with 434 points. Lake Forest won the men’s meet.

MIT Rings in First Meet of New Year With Victory Over Coast Guard

MIT’s men’s team began the 2014 portion of its season with a dominating win over Coast Guard on Saturday afternoon, taking home the victory 203.5-74.5. The meet included atypical events – such as 50s of strokes – and the team finished the day with victories in 14 of the 16 contested events.

Williams Bests Amherst

In what has to be one of the most exciting rivalries of Division III swimming, the Ephs of Williams College faced off against the Jeffs of Amherst on Saturday night. After a close start and some back and forth, Williams was victorious taking the meet 189-104.

The exclusive television home of 2013-14 Arena Grand Prix Series, Universal Sports Network is slated to broadcast extensive live coverage from the remaining five events of the latest edition of swimming’s top domestic series.

Denison falls to Eastern Michigan; Tops Wittenberg

The Big Red squad divided into two groups for their first competition since the midseason meet. One half of the athletes stayed at home for a dual meet with Eastern Michigan University while the other half made the trek to Springfield, OH for a meet with NCAC competitors, Wittenberg.
