Popova Breaks Her Own 100 Freestyle National Record

Veronika Popova posted a 52.21 in the semi-final of the women’s 100 freestyle breaking her own Russian record of 52.45, which she put up at the World Short Course Championships in Doha.

Popova record breaking splits:

  • Doha 2014 – 25.71/26.74 – 52.45
  • Semi-final Netanya – 25.29/26.92 – 52.21
  • Final Netanya – 25.26/26.76 – 52.02

 

With that time Popova collected the bronze behind Sarah Sjostrom and Ranomi Kromowidjojo. Her time also places her sixth in the world rankings.
