Pacific Swimming official Brian Malick passed away last week after years of promoting the sport of swimming.
Malick was the Chair of Pacific Swimming’s Officials Committee for the past six years and also volunteered as an official at local swim meets.
Pacific Swimming posted this tribute to Malick on their website last Thursday:
May 28, 2015 – Passing of Brian Malick
Pacific Swimming lost one of our great volunteers and Chair of our Official’s Committee this past Wednesday morning, with the passing of Brian Malick. Brian served as chair of the committee for the past six years and through his love of the sport, his dedication and leadership to his fellow officials and to this LSC; he raised the bar within our LSC for any who may follow in his footsteps.To Brian, Pacific Swimming was an important part of his family and his sudden loss will be felt by us all.

So sad to hear about his passing. I swam with/against his son for many years. Pacific swimming has lost a great man.
I’m happy to see the donations coming in for Brian. He volunteered his time at swim meets which seemed to be every single weekend, and the support coming in from the swim community is well deserved.

Always fair, most of the time smiling, incredibly funny, a great friend. You mentored many officials over your short career and myself being one of them. All our hours spent on the decks were some of the best time we had. You were truly one of the good guys. Gods Speed
