The 2017 Hungarian National Championships have been moved from its original location. After deliberating over the logistical details, new Hungarian Swimming Federation President Gusztáv Bienerth announced the organizing committee’s decision to move the meet away from the worlds pool in Budapest.
In a recent interview, Bienerth confirmed that the championships, which were to be marketed internationally, will instead be hed in Debrecen or Hódmezővásárhelyen. They were orginially slated to take place as a test event at the Dagaly Aquatic Center, which will serve as the primary competition facility for the 2017 FINA World Championships in Budapest, Hungary.
Bienerth also discussed his thoughts on the upcoming World Championships. He believes that hosting the event in Budapest will have a lasting impact on aquatic sports in Hungary, and that it will encourage young children throughout Hungary to get involved in swimming. He also believes there’s a good chance that the Hungarians may host the 2024 Olympic Games in Budapest.

But why?? Mr. Bienerth gave no reason for the location change……Is it because the facility will not be ready for Hungarain Nationals? Will they have a test event for the pool which will host the Worlds…?
