My daughter went to one of her swim clinics back in… oh gosh… probably 2003? 2004? It was a splendid time. She was very kind to everyone. Good to see those who didn’t really get a chance to shine in the “social media era” not be forgotten.

My favorite memory of Megan was from 2004 at Trials. She missed the team by a tenth of a second but got out of the pool with the biggest, brightest smile you had ever seen. You’d have thought she made the team again. It was dignity and sportsmanship at the highest level. When my daughter was an age grouper I used that photo to show her that you don’t always have to win, and you can always be graceful. Well done, Megan!
