Olympians Fight Cancer at Swim Across America Clinic in Dallas June 7-9

Swim Across America (SAA), a national non-profit organization dedicated to raising money for cancer research, prevention and treatment is set to host its first Dallas event June 7-9, 2013.

This event is a partnership between Swim Across America and Mutual of Omaha BREAKout! Swim Clinic. Olympic swimming stars such at Neil Walker, Andrea Hayes, Kirk Stackle, Daniel Watters and Jill Sterkel will attend. Josh Davis, 5-time Olympic medalist and Mutual of Omaha BREAKout! Swim Clinic founder, will lead the swim clinic with his Olympic peers. All proceeds benefit Swim Across America.

INTERVIEW OPPORTUNITY:  Olympic swimmers, SAA President and Dallas event chairs, swimmers and cancer survivors.

PHOTO OPPORTUNITY:  Olympic gold medalists Josh Davis and Neil Walker, young swimmers and their families.

WHAT:  Young swimmers will receive gold medal-worthy swimming technique tips and education from Olympic swimmers, along with a pizza party and autograph signing.

WHEN:  Friday, June 7, 2013, 4 p.m. to 7 p.m.

Open Water Swim Event – Saturday, June 8

INTERVIEW  OPPORTUNITY:    Olympic medalists, SAA President and Dallas event chairs, swimmers and cancer survivors.

PHOTO OPPORTUNITY:  Olympic swimmers and more than 225 swimmers participating in the open water swim.

WHAT:    Swimmers must raise a minimum of $500 to participate in the ½-mile, 1-mile or 2-mile course. They may swim individually, or as part of a team to honor friends and family who have been touched by cancer.

WHEN:  Saturday, June 8, 2013, 6:30 a.m. to noon

Pool Swim – Sunday, June 9

INTERVIEW OPPORTUNITY:  Olympic swimmers, SAA President and Dallas event chairs, swimmers and cancer  survivors.

PHOTO  OPPORTUNITY:  Olympic swimmers, young swimmers and their families.

WHAT:   Swimmers can choose to swim a 1/2 mile, 1 mile or participate as part of a relay. Teams will swim relay style with fun relay legs included throughout the event.

WHEN:   Sunday, June 9, 2013, 8 a.m. to noon
