Emma Corby, a mid-distance freestyler and butterflier from Pittsford, New York, has made a verbal commitment to swim for the UConn Huskies in 2017-18.
“I verbally committed to swim for the University of Connecticut next year. Everybody was so welcoming on my recruiting trip, and I absolutely loved the school… I couldn’t imagine myself anywhere else! I cannot wait to be a husky!”
Corby is a senior at Pittsford High School, with whom she placed third in the 200 free and fifth in the 100 fly at the 2015 New York Girls Federation Championships last fall. She also swam on Pittsford’s 200 and 400 freestyle relays, both of which won the state championship with Automatic All-American times and broke state records.
Corby swims year-round for PACK Swim Team of Pittsford. She was a finalist in the 400m free, 200m breast, 100/m fly, and 200m IM at the Niagara LSC Long Course Championships this past July. She competed in the 100/200m free and the 100/200m fly at the College Park Futures meet in August.
Corby’s best SCY times include:
- 100 fly – 56.10
- 200 free – 1:51.77
- 500 free – 5:00.77
