Northern California’s Ana Henderson Gives Verbal Pledge to Ohio University

Ana Henderson, of Danville, California, has committed her swimming services to the Bobcats of Ohio University. The senior at San Ramon Valley High School, and member of the Crow Canyon Sharks swim club, is a strong, versatile swimmer who will add quite a bit of depth to the Bobcats.

Henderson is primarily middle distance freestyler, posting a solid 4:54.30 500 yard free this year, as well as an impressive 1:51.46 200 yard freestyle, at the 2014 NCS (Northern California high school) Championships. Additionally, her 56.84 100 yard butterfly, and 2:02.29 200 yard fly, as well as her 53.35 100 yard free, will make her an excellent addition for head coach Rachel Komisarz-Baugh.

Ana has shown solid improvement in her swimming over the past two years, showing her dedication and work ethic.

Event: 100y free 200y free 500y free 100y fly 200y fly
2014 53.35 1:51.46 4:54.30 56.94 2:02.29
2013 53.81 1:52.81 4:59.09 56.84 2:06.57
2012 52.55 1:53.65 5:04.37 58.05

Her gains in the 500 yard freestyle alone are impressive. Her current times in that event should make her the number one pick for the Bobcats next season.

On her commitment to the Bobcats, Henderson stated: “Ohio University is the perfect fit for me. I’m so excited to be a Bobcat for the next 4 years!”

Look out for great things from this addition to the Ohio roster.
