Northeastern Women Set to Race Richmond in Virtual Meet on Friday

BOSTON – Northeastern will face Richmond in the first-ever virtual swimming and diving dual meet for the Huskies on Friday at 2:30 p.m. The virtual meet can be watched on Howlin’ Huskies Productions (here) and Sky Kerstein (play-by-play) and former All-American Megan Clark will be on the call.

THREE THINGS TO KNOW:

    1. Virtual Meet: Both teams will provide a stream to each other and switch when the other swims, and then score the event. Both teams will swim at the same time for the 200-yard medley relay and 400-yard freestyle relay, as well as the 500 and 1000 freestyle events. Diving will compete on Saturday and the virtual dual meet will be scored following those diving events.     2. Head Coach Roy CoatesA 2017 Northeastern Hall of Fame Inductee, Roy Coates enters his 28th season on the deck for the Huskies. Coates is a four-time Conference Coach of the Year and has led Northeastern to 21 winning seasons, including 14 straight years of a record of .500 or better. The Huskies finished in the top three in the country for the second straight semester last spring with a program-best 3.905 team grade point average.
    3. Captains: Leading the way for Northeastern this season are senior captains Klara JuliussonCloe Bedard-Khalid and Kristina Kirchoff. Bedard-Khalid won the 1000 free with a time of 10:56.78  at the Red and Black Intrasquad Meet, while Kirchoff earned fourth- and fifth-place finishes in the 100 and 200 breaststroke events. Juliusson will be competing in her first meet this Friday.
