DURHAM, N.H. – The Wildcats won 13 of the 16 events as the University of New Hampshire swimming and diving team defeated America East opponent Vermont, 215-85, in the season opener on Saturday on Family, Friends and Family Weekend at Swasey Pool. The Wildcats start the season 1-0 (1-0 America East), while the Catamounts fall to 1-2 (0-1 America East).
UP NEXT:
- The Wildcats will return to action when they travel to New Britain, Conn., to take on Central Connecticut on Friday and Saturday, Oct. 28-29.

HOW IT HAPPENED:
- Freshman Sophia Routzahn (Frederick, Md.) was spectacular in her collegiate debut as she won three events taking the 100 breaststroke (1:04.54), 200 breaststroke (2:21.17) and 200 IM (2:08.88).
- Graduate student Shelby Kasse (Hoofddorp, Netherlands) was a double winner in her UNH debut placing first in the 100 backstroke (56.90) and 200 backstroke (2:03.45).
- Freshman Audrey Mahoney (Downers Grove, Ill.) also had an outstanding collegiate debut winning the 50 free (23.98).
- The 200 free relay team of senior Olivia Stille (Stockholm, Sweden), Abby McKinney (Westfield, N.J.), Mahoney and sophomore Chiara Maria Pradissitto (Milan, Italy) had a dominant performance recording a time of 1:36.58 which was just .13 off the pool record.
- Junior Hannah Devine (Hamilton, N.J.) won the 1000 freestyle (10:23.57), Stille placed first in the 100 freestyle (53.03) and Pradissitto took the 100 butterfly (57.16).
- The Wildcats swept the diving events as sophomore Emma Clarke (Avon, N.Y.) won the one meter (221.62) and Hannah Weatherby (Newtown, Conn.) placed first in the three meter (219.90).
- The 200 medley relay team of Kasse, senior Jamy Lum (Honolulu, Hawaii), Pradissitto and Mahoney started the meet with a winning time of 1:45.56.

DURHAM, NH – The Catamounts fell on the road to New Hampshire in their first America East meet of the season, 215-85, at Swasey Pool in Durham, New Hampshire Saturday afternoon. With the result Vermont falls to 1-2 and 0-1 in the America East, while the Wildcats improve to 1-0 and 1-0 in the America East on the season.

HOW IT HAPPENED
- Jackie House claimed two individual victories in the 200 and 500 freestyle. In the 200 she finished in a time of 1:53.48 and in the 500 she finished in 5:03.52 a full three seconds ahead of the field. House also finished third in the 50 free in a time of 24.73.
- Hally Laney earned a first place finish in the 200 fly finishing in a time of 2:06.98.
- Annika Overvig finished third in the three meter dive with a score of 207.07.
- The Catamounts finished in second in the 200 freestyle relay. The combination of Jackie House, Autumn Bullinger, Mina Poppas and Anna Shoudt came in at a time of 1:37.88.
WHO’S NEXT
Following today’s meet, the Catamounts will return home for a second consecutive America East battle, hosting Maine. Vermont will invite the Black Bears to Forbush Natatorium on Saturday, November 5 at 11 a.m. The meet against Maine will mark UVM’s annual Rally Against Cancer meet presented by Mascoma bank.
