NC State Launches Season with Intrasquad Swim Meet

The NC State swimming & diving team will take to the pool in front of an audience for the first time in the 2014-15 season Friday, Sept. 26, as the squad will host its Red, White and Black scrimmage inside the Willis R. Casey Aquatic Center. Action is set to get underway at 4:45 p.m.

Holloway’s Take

“We’re looking forward to racing and a fun way to kick off the season,” said head coach Braden Holloway. “We’ve been back to work and it will be nice to assess where we are currently and see all of our newcomers in a competitive setting.”

Meet Format

The men’s and women’s rosters will be combined and split into three even teams: Red, White and Black.

The three teams will compete head-to-head across 15 events, including diving, individual swims and two relays. Diving will serve as a combined event, while both relay races will be comprised of groups of two men and two women.

Pack Set for #STATEment season

The Pack is coming off a tremendous 2013-14 season and excitement for the swimming & diving program is high, as both squads finished last year in the top-16 at the NCAA Championships for the first time in program history.

The Wolfpack returns a combined 10 All-Americans from last season’s squad, as the NC State women’s squad returns six student-athletes that garnered All-American honors and the men’s team has four returning All-Americans.

Parking Information

Fans are urged to park on the 2nd-4th levels of the Reynolds Coliseum parking garage for Friday’s meet, as the deck will be open for spectators beginning at 3 p.m.
