The Bucknell men’s swimming & diving team went 2-1 at its home quad meet on Saturday at Kinney Natatorium.

Behind eight top-three finishes, the Bison topped American (201-82) and Lafayette (184-113). They fell to 14-time defending Patriot League champion Navy (86-189).

Garrett Sommer won the 3-meter dive (238.50) while Matt McGoey scored an individual title in the 400 IM (4:13.46).

McGoey also took third in the 200 backstroke (1:56.26) and swam the second leg of the runner-up 200 freestyle relay. He, Charlie McFarlandNate Romanowski and Jacob Lubinski clocked in at 1:27.57.

Michael Park took second to McGoey in the 400 IM, timing in at 4:20.23. Mitch Gavars (1,000 freestyle), Lubinski (100 butterfly) and the 200 freestyle team of Gavars, Tom GannonNico Pagni and Park were Bucknell’s additional third-place finishers.

The Bison have now won their past 11 dual meets against American and past 23 against Lafayette. They return to action when they host the Bucknell Invitational at Kinney Natatorium on Friday, Nov. 17 through Sunday, Nov. 19.
