Emmitsburg, Md. (August 22, 2016) – The Mount St. Mary’s University men’s and women’s swimming & diving teams announced their schedule for the 2016-17 campaign on Monday. The Mountaineers are set to host a pair of home meets at the Mount Swimming Pool to open the year as the men’s squad begins its inaugural season.
The Mount hosts VMI and Manhattan on October 8 in the season-opening meet at 1 p.m. in Emmitsburg, and follow with another home meet against Howard on November 11 at 5 p.m. The Mountaineers then head to the Franklin & Marshall Invitational (Nov. 18-20), as the women’s squad looks to improve upon a third-place finish from a season ago.
After returning from their winter break trip in Florida, the Mountaineers open the spring semester with meets at La Salle (Jan. 27) and conference foe St. Francis Brooklyn (Jan. 28). The Mount women own a perfect 6-0 record all-time against St. Francis Brooklyn after topping the Terriers 130-66 last year.
Mount St. Mary’s wraps up the regular season with a road meet at Loyola on February 4as the women face the Greyhounds for the sixth straight year.
The women’s team heads to the NEC Championships spanning February 15-18, and qualifying swimmers from both the men’s and women’s squads will head to the ECAC Championships spanning February 24-26.
