The most decorated Olympian of all time, Michael Phelps, has landed on the front of the Wheaties breakfast cereal box for a record 3rd time.

As announced by Wheaties manufacturer General Mills on this morning’s NBC’s TODAY show, Phelps has been awarded the company’s ‘Lifetime Achievement’ honor, the first recipient of the award in the brand’s 94-year history.

“I am honored to receive the first Lifetime Achievement box from Wheaties. For me it’s another achievement that I’ve been able to accomplish that is still so wild to think of,” Phelps said today. “Every day I kind of pinch myself to see if this is real life. It’s been amazing to be able to know that I’ve put my mind to these goals and been able to achieve them. This all started with a dream, and with hard work and dedication, anything is possible.”

Entering the 2016 Olympic Games in Rio with 18 gold medals already under his belt, the 31-year-old Baltimore native added to his hardware haul by earning 5 additional gold medals, bringing his entire Olympic medal record up to 28 total.

“It was special to watch someone who had experienced so much over the last four years come out of retirement and accomplish something so incredible,” says Dana McNabb, vice president of marketing for Wheaties. “Michael proved that resilience, discipline and performance pay off and we are honored to feature him for the third time, and for a Wheaties Lifetime Achievement box.”

Phelps first appeared on the iconic Wheaties box back in 2004, after he won 6 gold and 2 bronze medals at the Olympic Games in Athens. He re-appeared in 2012 after reaching the 22 Olympic medal career milestone.

Look for Phelps in your breakfast aisle in the next few weeks.

Look for the Wheaties box right across the aisle from Pine Bros Cough Drops.

In other news, Ryan LOCHTE would like to thank 49ers backup QB COLIN KAEPERNICK for taking the spotlight of public condemnation off of him.

Last time I saw Lochte in public, he was standing proudly during the playing of the US national anthem with his hand over his heart and a big smile on his face.
