Michigan Lakeshore Aquatics Hires Jim Whitehead As Head Coach

Michigan Lakeshore Aquatics has hired Jim Whitehead as its new head coach.

Whitehead has more than 13 years of head coaching experience, per his bio on the Michigan Lakeshore Aquatics website, and has coached a wide range of swimmers from beginners to Olympic Trials qualifiers.

Whitehead most recently coached at the Plymouth-Canton Cruisers of Canton Michigan, where The Holland Sentinal reports that he worked with the national and age group levels of swimmers.

Whitehead takes over for the departed Troy Emmons, who resigned about a year ago after an alcohol-related misdemeanor. Emmons eventually pleaded guilty to indecent exposure and was given a year of probation along with a fine.

Michigan Lakeshore now adds Whitehead to a staff that includes Kyle Mallory, Sara Kadzban, Michael Daley and Mike Ledesma.
