The RedHawk women are coming off an action-packed weekend, losing the season opener to Purdue, 199-94, on Friday, then bouncing back to dominate Xavier, 145-102, on Saturday. Miami is looking to extend its record to 2-1 on the season, after winning every event against Xavier.
Sophomore Stephanie LeMire had a strong opening weekend, finishing in the top two in seven different events between Purdue and Xavier. For her efforts, she was selected the Mid-American Conference Women’s Swimmer of the Week, announced Monday afternoon.
Ohio State is coming off a first-place finish in the Dennis Stark Relays, hosted by Notre Dame. Thursday will be the Buckeyes’ first dual meet of the 2014-15 season. OSU and sixth-year head coach Bill Dorenkott are coming off a successful season last year, which included sending nine swimmers, seven of which are returning, to the NCAA Championships.
