Miami University Swim and Dive to dual Ohio State University Thurs Oct 23rd

Miami University women’s swimming and diving team is back in the pool on Thursday, Oct. 23 to host Ohio State University at 6 p.m. in the Nixon Aquatic Center.

The RedHawk women are coming off an action-packed weekend, losing the season opener to Purdue, 199-94, on Friday, then bouncing back to dominate Xavier, 145-102, on Saturday. Miami is looking to extend its record to 2-1 on the season, after winning every event against Xavier.

Sophomore Stephanie LeMire had a strong opening weekend, finishing in the top two in seven different events between Purdue and Xavier. For her efforts, she was selected the Mid-American Conference Women’s Swimmer of the Week, announced Monday afternoon.

Ohio State is coming off a first-place finish in the Dennis Stark Relays, hosted by Notre Dame. Thursday will be the Buckeyes’ first dual meet of the 2014-15 season. OSU and sixth-year head coach Bill Dorenkott are coming off a successful season last year, which included sending nine swimmers, seven of which are returning, to the NCAA Championships.
