SALT LAKE CITY- The University of Utah diving team will send four divers this weekend to compete in the Air Force Diving Invitational, which is set to take place this Friday–Saturday, Jan. 30-31 at the Cadet Natatorium in Colorado Springs, Colo. The meet will begin at 10 a.m (MT) on Friday.
Sophomore Amanda Casillas, freshman Lauren Hall and senior Jasmine Matkovic will be competing for the women, while junior Jacob Crayne will compete for the men.
COMPETING TEAMS
There will be 17 teams competing this weekend. Along with Utah, other competing teams will include Air Force, Arizona State, Boise State, BYU, Colorado College, Denver, Grand Canyon, Idaho, UNLV, New Mexico, Northern Arizona, Northern Colorado, San Diego State, Texas A&M and Wyoming.
PREVIOUS MEETING
Last season at the Invitational, Crayne took first on both the one-meter and platform event. He won the one-meter event with a score of 365.75. Also in the event was Josiah Purss in third with a score of 344.75. On platform, Crayne scored a 353.10. Crayne also took home a fifth place finish on the three-meter event with a score of 353.10.
Casillas took fifth in the platform event with a score of 234.75 with Matkovic taking ninth in the event (212.80). Casillas also came home with 14th place finish in the one-meter event with a score of 239.60. Matkovic finished in 25th in the event (225.75). Casillas took 13th in the three-meter event (259.05) and Matkovic ended up taking 23rd (240.95).
LAST TIME OUT
All four of the divers are coming off a very successful meet against Denver this past weekend. Hall took home her first collegiate win in the one-meter with a score of 281.48, which also served as her personal best in the event. Casillas took second-place in the event with a score of 269.18.
Crayne took first in the men’s three meter with a score of 356.18. In the one-meter event, he took second with a score of 301.28.

The Utah women’s swimming and diving team hosts Oregon State in a Pac-12 meet on Friday, Feb. 6 and both the men and women’s team will take on rival BYU that following Saturday, Feb. 7.
