Maddison Elliot, who became the youngest Australian paralympian to medal at the Paralympics in London collecting a bronze in both the 100 and 400 freestyle, broke the 50 freestyle world record today at the EnergyAustralia Swimming Championships. Elliot won the event in a time of 30.28 which is breaks the S8 world record of 31.13 set by Mallory Weggemann last year at the Paralympic Games in London.
Taylor Corry (S14), who won the 100 backstroke yesterday, finished second in a time of 28.54 she was followed by Kayla Clarke (S14) finished third posting a time of 29.21.
Daniel Fox (S14), who finished third in the 100 backstroke yesterday, won the men’s 50 freestyle in a time of 24.55. Mitchell Kilduff (S14) finished second recording a time of 25.73 with Matthew Cowdrey (S9) finishing third in a time of 25.63.
