Ryan Lochte, who has a self-stated goal to break into the fashion world in parallel to and after his swimming career, has made a big step in that direction with the announcement of a new partnership with Macy’s.
Lochte has long partnered with the Calvin Klein brand, and today he’s dove-tailing off of that partnership as a part of the Macy’s ‘American Icons’ campaign.
This campaign began last year, and culminated with a huge New York City 4th of July fireworks show that was billed as ‘the biggest in the nation.’
Last year, the campaign focused on iconic locations – classic drive-ins, baseball, grilling, and legendary and historic designers. This year, They’ve chosen the 5-time Olympic champion Lochte as a part of their iconic marketing burst.
Also a part of this year’s campaign will be Ireland Eldredge, Jana Kramer, Tommy Hilfiger, and actress Zooey Deschanel. They will also add the “Great American Pop Quiz,” the “Macy’s Great American County Fair” to their celebration of all things America. And of course, this will all roll into “American Icon” apparel that goes on sale May 14th.
