BROOKLYN, N.Y. – The LIU men’s and women’s swim teams hosted a tri meet in LIU Pool Saturday, and the Sharks won all three meets. The men’s team beat Saint Peter’s, 183-74, while the women had two wins, beating Saint Peter’s, 235-23, and Saint Francis U., 146-115.
SHARK BITES – MEN
- Daniel Chocano Fernández was a double winner, as he took the top spot in the 1000 free (10:03.95) and the 500 free (4:53.32), and also finished second in the 200 IM (1:59.72).
- Sophomore Trajan Houston won the 100 back in 53:40, and the 200 back in 1:59.05.
- Stephen Taylor took the top spot in the 100 breaststroke in 59.77.
- Freshman Ethan Law won the 100 butterfly in a career-best time of 51.20.
SHARK BITES – WOMEN
- Sophomore Venna Andersen won the 100 breast in 1:05.72 and the 50 free (24.55).
- The Sharks went 1-2-3 in the 200 fly, won by Ella Johnson (2:07.10), followed by Allie Bashor in 2:07.35, and Annie Stingle in 2:09.20.
- Bashor and Johnson switched spot in the 100 fly, as Bashor won in 57.66 and Johnson took second in 58.17.
- Up next, the Sharks take on Saint Francis U and Howard on the road in another tri-meet, Saturday, November 13.
