Meili’s reaction times have been nuts here

Everyone needs to relax with freaking out every time Michael Andrew doesn’t go a best time. It’s like nothing he ever does is good enough for the commenters on here. Even if he was killing it here, people would just brush it off and say, oh it’s just short course, who cares…the prize money doesn’t even cover the travel expenses. He is clearly training through all of this and just getting more experience racing international competition. Even if he was in top form and fully rested for this, he is still not at the point where he can finish in the money.

There is no reason to panic though. If you look at his past 2 years, I think… Read more »

It is possible the Russian cuisine doesn’t agree with Mr. Andrew.

Good points but what you left out was that Andrew himself admitted that he needs to put in more work/yards than he did this past year. The physical gifts are there but until he puts in the extra work he’ll stagnate with his times.

I also think there mechanics aren’t there on the free and possibly the fly to be elite in those events.

Why is Larson so slow now?

I’m surprised that Larson is still swimming since I think she is now in her mid-20’s and didn’t make the Olympic team. Its her choice, I guess.

She was a late bloomer, started at 17 I believe. I guess she still loves doing it, which I have no problem with. Idk how she got to be so much slower though.

My guess is that he was 100% focused on the 50 free. Is that a best time for him?

No. 21.69 from 2015. Maybe he beats it tonight.

Focusing on 50 free by swimming 200 IM beforehand?
It doesn’t make any sense.
Swimming 50 back (one event earlier before 200 IM) would have been more sensical if focusing 50 free is his actual plan.

He swam 21.96 in Berlin, though not sure if it’s his PB.

Why did MA swim 200 IM (where he finished 9th n 2:04) instead of 50 back where in Paris-Cartres he was much closer to the Jr WR?

I really don’t understand the strategy by MA’s team.
And what’s with swimming 1:01 in the 100 breast prelims?

And a 2:04 at that. Kid is very inconsistent.

It’s possible he might be coming down with a cold or may have been tightening up in certain races
