2016 MEN’S PAC-12 CHAMPIONSHIPS

Cal sophomore Justin Lynch won his first-career individual Pac-12 title in the 100 fly on Friday in Federal Way, touching 1st in 46.08 to just beat-out USC freshman Alex Valente (46.10).

That individual title goes with two relay titles won last year and one in the 400 medley relay already from this year’s meet.

Lynch was actually faster, a 45.62, in prelims on Friday morning, which ranks him 6th in the NCAA so far this season.

In his interview, Lynch talks about how he wasn’t sure if he’d won the race, but that he “knew he dug his head down and threw his arms toward the wall and gave it all (he) had.”
