The International Federation of Swim Coaches Associations (IFSCA) is pleased to announce the addition of the Irish Swim Coaches Association (ISCA), Portuguese Association of Swim Coaches – Associação Portuguesa de Treinadores de Natação (APTN) and the Spanish Swim Coaches Association – Asociación Española Técnicos de natación (AETN) as its newest members.
Founded in 2024 by the American, Australian, Canadian, and British Swimming Coaches Associations, IFSCA aims to foster global collaboration, support, and development for National Swim Coaches Associations IFSCA’s mission is twofold:
- To provide support, information, and collaboration opportunities for leaders of National Coaches Associations.
- To support the formation and growth of National Swim Coaches Associations worldwide.
With the inclusion of ISCA, APTN and AETN, IFSCA continues to expand its reach and impact, strengthening the global swim coaching community.
Pearse McGuigan, Chairperson of the Irish Swim Coaches Association, expressed their enthusiasm for joining IFSCA:
“This partnership opens up incredible opportunities for us to learn from and collaborate with some of the most established swim coaches associations in the world. It’s an exciting step forward for Irish swimming.”
Albert Tubella, President of the Spanish Swim Coaches Association, added: “Being part of IFSCA allows us to contribute to and benefit from a global network dedicated to advancing the profession of swim coaching. Together, we can drive innovation and excellence in our sport.”
Aldo M Costa, President of the Portuguese Association of Swim Coaches, further added: “We are very excited to be part of this international cooperation network. This collaboration will benefit us all, not only through the sharing of knowledge and experience but also by strengthening both the social role and the collective identity of swim coaches”
Brendon Ward, CEO of the Australian Swimming Coaches and Teachers Association (ASCTA) and current Secretariat of IFSCA, emphasized the importance of this milestone:
“The addition of ISCA and SSCA strengthens IFSCA’s mission to unite swim coaches associations worldwide. We’re thrilled to welcome these organizations and look forward to working together to support the growth and development of swim coaching globally.”
