Houston’s Bouter Named AAC Diver of the Week

PROVIDENCE, R.I. – The American Athletic Conference has announced the winners of the league’s swimming and diving honors for the week ending Oct. 25.

AMERICAN ATHLETIC CONFERENCE MALE SWIMMER OF THE WEEK
Chris Bready • So. • Cincinnati
Bready produced four first-place performances, including a pair of Top-50 times in a trio of meets for the Bearcats. This past weekend in a dual meet with Louisville, the sophomore defeated the field in the 1650 freestyle event with a time of 15:32.89, which ranks second in the nation. Bready generated the No. 24 time (9:16.76) in the country in the 1,000 freestyle during a tri-meet with Xavier and Cleveland State. The Missouri City, Texas, native also recorded the top time in the 500 freestyle to lead Cincinnati. Bready touched the wall first in the 200 butterfly in a tri-meet with VMI and Marshall.

Kent earned a pair of first place finishes in the 1-meter and 3-meter diving events against UNC Wilmington over the weekend. The sophomore diver produced a score of 314.03 in the 1-meter competition, followed by a 337.98 score in the 3-meter.

Keire registered four individual event and two relay victories, along with the No. 29 time in the 100 freestyle in a meet with Louisville. The Burlington, Ontario, product bested the field in the 100 free style with a nationally ranked time of 50.40. Keire also recorded a top-finishing time in the 50 freestyle (23.63), 500 freestyle (4:58.50) and swam in the 200 medley relay (1:49.55). In a dual-meet with Marshall, the junior defeated the competition in the 100 freestyle, 200 freestyle and participated the 200 medley relay.

Micaela Bouter • So. • Houston
Bouter captured first place in the 1-meter dive (315 points) and finished second (322 points) behind teammate Danielle Shedd in the 3-meter event, falling short of sweeping the Invitational by less than 8 points.
