Hosszu Wins 6th Straight World Cup, Morozov Wins Men’s Title

FINA WORLD CUP – HONG KONG

For the 6th consecutive year, Hungary’s Katinka Hosszu has won the FINA World Cup title in runaway fashion, with Russia’s Vladimir Morozov getting his first win on the men’s side.

Hosszu had 717 more points than the next-closest finisher on the women’s side, scoring 1197 over the tour’s 9 meets. That points win netted her $100,000, and a win in the third cluster added another $50,000. In all, Hosszu earned $386,750 over the course of the series.

Morozov bested South Africa’s Chad le Clos for the men’s title by 124 points. He also earned both the $100,000 tour bonus and the $50,000 cluster bonus.

Each world record yields 20 points. Tying a world record is worth 10 points.

Performance Bonuses

The top 3 male and top 3 female swims of the meet earn bonus points. Top swims are determined based on FINA points. Only the top-scoring swim from each athlete is counted.
