WORCESTER, Mass. – The Holy Cross men’s and women’s swimming and diving teams both defeated Colgate Sunday afternoon at the Hart Center. The women downed the Raiders by a score of 167-128, while the men were victorious 146-125.

After a Saturday night meet with Boston University, Colgate was back in action at Holy Cross on Saturday to cap an eventful weekend.

Colgate took the top three spots in the 1000 Yard Freestyle thanks to Justin SongAndrew Kelemen and Noah Zeigler. Song’s time of 10:15.04 set the bar high for his fellow competitors.

In perhaps the most exciting race of the day, Kelemen and Song tied in the 500 Yard Freestyle. Both men posted times of 4:55.69.

Cole Bligh and Jack Van Meter earned first and second respectively in the 200 Yard Freestyle. Van Meter wasn’t done, as he won the 100 Yard Freestyle.

Camden Koch won both the 100 Yard Backstroke and 200 Yard Individual Medley. Koch won the latter in dominating fashion by nearly five seconds.

Segundo Reinhardt edged out Holy Cross’ Ben Fox by just one hundredth of a second in the 50 Yard Freestyle.

Holy Cross claimed the meet with a final score of 146-125.

A strong showing from the 200 Yard Medley Relay team kicked off the day for Colgate. Carolyn SilvermanLauren deTorresLindsay Criqui, and Madison Sullivan combined for a first place finish.

deTorres, Criqui, and Sullivan were back at it along with Lucy Bischof to win the 200 Yard Freestyle Relay. Adding to an already successful day, deTorres claimed a victory in both the 100 Yard Backstroke and the 200 Yard Breaststroke.

Sam Adams contributed a 100 Yard Freestyle win, crushing the competition by almost a full second.

Caroline LaPlante cleaned up in the diving portion, winning both the one meter and three meter dives.

The final score sided with Holy Cross, 167-128.
