Heemskerk Posts a 51.62 For World’s Top 100 freestyle

Femke Heemskerk has put up some impressive times over the last couple of months, something which has continued on the third night of competition at the Danish Short Course Championships in Copenhagen.

Heemskerk posted a 51.62 to top the world charts. She already occupied the number spot in the world rankings with a time of 51.66 which she posted in October.

Ranomi Kromowidjojo recorded the second fastest time in Copenhagen finishing in a 51.95. She was just off her season’s best of 51.84 which is currently the third ranked time in the world.

Mie O Nielsen collected the gold in a time of 52.93.

Moniek Nijhuis finished with the top time in the women’s 50 breaststroke hitting the wall in a time of 29.92. Nijhuis was two one-hundredths of a second off her season’s best of 29.90 which currently ranks fourth in the world.

Rikke Moller Pedersen took the gold in a time of 30.80 just ahead of Louise Dalgaard who finished in a time of 30.81. Those times are season’s bests for both women and places them 20th and 21st in the world rankings.

Viktor Bromer dominated the competition in the men’s 200 butterfly, winning the event by almost seven seconds. Bromer posted a time of 1:52.43 which is only 24 one-hundredths of a second off his national record and places him ninth in the world rankings.

  • Women’s 200 butterfly – Isabella Sorensen – 2:10.21
  • Men’s 100 freestyle – Frederik Pedersen – 48.48
  • Women’s 1500 freestyle – Emma Wael – 16:44.38
  • Men’s 400 IM – Nicolas Blanch – 4:20.04
