COLORADO SPRINGS, Colo. – Colorado State takes two out of three weekly awards as senior Kristina Friedrichs has been named Mountain West Swimmer of the Week and freshman Lindsay Gizzi earned Mountain West Diver of the Week. Fresno State’s Julia Matney claims Freshman of the Week.
SWIMMER OF THE WEEK
KRISTINA FRIEDRICHS, COLORADO STATE
Senior, Woodstock, Georgia
- Helped lead the Rams to their 14th dual win this season, a school record, versus Air Force.
- Took first place in the 50-yard freestyle (23.66) and 100-yard butterfly (56.39).
- Earned a first-place finish as part of the 200-yard medley relay and second place as a member of the 400-yard freestyle relay.
DIVER OF THE WEEK
LINDSAY GIZZI, COLORADO STATE
Freshman, South Bend, Indiana
- Colorado State’s top diver against Air Force.
- Set a school record and finished first on the 1-meter spring board with a score of 335.05.
- Earned first place on the 3-meter board with a score of 308.50.
FRESHMAN OF THE WEEK
JULIA MATNEY, FRESNO STATE
Freshman, Centennial, Colorado
- Took first place in the 50-yard freestyle (24.03) and 100-yard butterfly (56.25) in a dual meet victory against UC Davis.
- Finished second in the 200-yard medley relay (1:45.49).
