French Star Manaudou Shoulder Injury Update

French swimmer Florent Manaudou‘s shoulder injury, that he announced will keep him out of the European short course championships, is not expected to be a long-term problem, he revealed on his Facebook page today.

Manaudou said that he is happy to be back in Marseille with friends and family. He added that, while his shoulder is painful, it isn’t a serious injury and that the French national coaches and medical staff agreed what he needed most was rest. And so of course the European short course championships are out of the question.

Although not competing in Denmark this weekend is frustrating for him, Manaudou is turning his focus to the long course season which will culminate with the 2014 European long course championships in Berlin on August 13-24. “There are several more meets awaiting me between now and next August in Berlin,” he noted, thanking his fans for their support.
