Free and Fly Specialist Paige Sherlock Opts To Stay In-State With North Florida (2024)

Fitter and Faster Swim Camps is the proud sponsor of SwimSwam’s College Recruiting Channel and all commitment news. For many, swimming in college is a lifelong dream that is pursued with dedication and determination. Fitter and Faster is proud to honor these athletes and those who supported them on their journey.

Paige Sherlock has announced her commitment to further her academic and athletic career at the University of North Florida this upcoming fall. Sherlock’s decision keeps her in-state, as she currently attends River View High School in Sarasota, Florida.

Sherlock, who trains and competes year-round with the Sarasota Sharks, swims events ranging from distance freestyle to butterfly and IM. She recently raced at the Florida Spring Senior Championships, where she put up her highest finish in the 1650 at 29th (18:20.04). Her next best events were the 1000 and 200 fly with finishes of 35th (10:50.94) and 37th (2:10.79), respectively.

Just before the Senior State meet, Sherlock hit a best time in the 200m fly at the Southern Zone Senior Championship. She stopped the clock at 2:28.33 in finals, putting her over a second under her previous best time from last February.

Sherlock wrapped up her long course season this past summer at the summer version of the Florida Senior Championships. Highlighting her meet was the 1500m free, as she posted a personal best time of 18:55.70 to take 8th overall. She also notched a big best time in the 400m IM, recording a 5:24.94 for 12th.

North Florida had three B-finalists in the event this season, led by graduate student Ashley Cozad in 11th (2:06.04). She was joined by Kayla Daley and Allie Larrimore who took 13th and 14th with times of 2:06.56 and 2:07.98. Both Daley and Larrimore will be on campus this fall when Sherlock arrives.
