FINA Announces Song Contest For 2016 SC World Championships

FINA has announced a song contest ahead of the 2016 Short Course World Championships, which will take place in Windsor, Canada from December 6th to 11th. The contest calls for contestants to send in their own “Feel The Power” championship song, which can be submitted through FINA’s event page.

Contestants will submit an original song that fits within a 30 second to 1-minute time frame. Both the lyrics and the melody of the song must be original, and they should fit with FINA’s “Feel The Power” theme for the meet. The winner of the contest will have their song played at the World Championships.

Anyone, whether you’re an amateur songwriter or professional musician, is welcome to submit a song. Rules and regulations can be found here, and you can enter the contest by clicking here.

The 2016 Short Course World Championships will bring up to 1,000 of the world’s best swimmers from over 170 countries to Canada to battle for a World Championship title in their respective events. The event is expected to draw over 35,000 fans to Windsor, and will be hosted in Canada for the first time ever.
